B.S.     Lewis Clark State College, Chemistry

Biography

It was while attending Lewis Clark State College that I fell in love with the field of organic chemistry. The idea that we can design and develop new molecules to do anything we want them to, specifically it was affecting the human body that fascinated me. In my Ph. D. Studies, I focused in drug development and design, expecting that I would one day work in the drug development industry. It was through my teaching assistantship that I found my real passion was teaching organic chemistry. I observed that many students bound for the medical field had a perception that the purpose of ochem was a weed-out class. It is my goal and passion to change that perception and help our future doctors and pharmacists to understand that organic chemistry is essential to their future understanding of a variety of topics including drug metabolism, an essential topic for one who would be prescribing medications. My Current research interests are in Chemical education.
